Hi, as part of the Marlow Allotments Associations annual offerings, I have volunteered to give another talk on Growing Orchids at Home. When we did this before, it went down really well and the room was full to bursting. So this time we are holding it at at the
Liston Hall, Garden Room on Thursday 16th May 2019, start 7:30pm.
Why talk about orchids and not potatoes or beans? well, you can find out about your veggies from fellow allotment holders, but you need an expert to tell and, even better, show you how to look after orchids. I am a professional orchid grower and I am happy to let you in on my "secret". This is what's on offer:
Part 1: Introduction to Orchids: a slide presentation of colourful pictures, showing some of the thousands of orchids growing around the world. Part 2: Potting Demonstration and Orchid Clinic: here I roll up my sleeves and show you how to re-pot orchids and discuss all aspects of orchid cultivation : watering, feeding, compost, pruning, pests & diseases etc.
You are welcome to bring your orchids to the meeting for praise or commiseration. We all learn so much more when we share experiences.
This is a non-profit event but there is a small charge to cover the hall rental: £1 for MAA members and £2 for non-members.
Tickets here (<click on "here") or at the door.
